We are a young and dynamic research group focused on the discovery of new electroactive molecular materials combining synthetic organic chemistry, physical chemistry and materials science. We are part of CIQUS (University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain). Part of the team and equipment are located at the CICECO-Aveiro Institute of Materials (University of Aveiro, Portugal).

Our research encompasses the design, synthesis and characterization of electroactive organic/hybrid molecules/polymers as well as the study of their electrical, optical and magnetic properties. We also deal with the fabrication of molecular-based devices towards applications in electronics and energy storage. We have a strong cooperative spirit maintaining collaborations with groups from different parts of the world.

Manuel has started a new position as Oportunius Research Professor at CIQUS – University of Santiago de Compostela (USC).

Invited lecture at EuroMOF

Manuel gave an invited talk at the EuroMOF conference (Granada, 24-27 September 2023) and Catarina contributed with a poster presentation.

Our latest work on the direct C-H-arylation of dithiophene-tetratafulvalene and the formation of 2D self-assembled molecular networks has been highlighted as Front Cover and Cover Profile in Chem.
